HOMELESS BROWN BAG & CARE
FOR DV AWARENESS

Studies suggest that many women experiencing homelessness are survivors of domestic violence (DV), even if it's not the cause of their homelessness. One study in Massachusetts found that 92 percent of homeless women had experienced severe physical or sexual assault at some point in their lives.

To combat this issue, each quarter, LLN assembles and distributes brown bag lunches and care packages filled with hygienic toiletries, where both are used as incentives for folks to talk to us about the DV they are facing on the streets. In turn, we offer resources they do not know about that could help with things like safety planning, counseling, and more. We also specifically speak to men we come into contact with, about ways they can help keep women safe.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

VOLUNTEER: Once per quarter, join us on Assembly Day to help put bags together or meet us at Distribution location to help to hand out ‘brown bags and care packages’ to the vulnerable that need DV resources.

HOST A DRIVE: Gather a group at your office, church or community to collect NEW travel size toiletry items (sizes you would get from a Dollar Store for example), or NEW, warm socks, NEW warm men and women hats, gloves, undershirts or tank tops.

DONATE ITEMS or FUNDING: Can’t make it out to volunteer or host a drive? You can give to the initiative by mailing items from our AMAZON WISHLIST page to us or giving via our donation page. No amount is too small. Please note in notation field ‘For Homeless’ and thank you!

Call/Text us at 888.LLN.9876 or email info@lovelifenow.org for more information or to be notified of the next quarter’s date for assembly and distribution.

THANK YOU!!!
