Lovern is a sought after speaker and DV awareness workshop presenter around the issue and is the author of the international memoir, The Legacy He Left Me. The book is on a nationwide book and speaking tour, where she is hosted by corporations, state agencies, high schools, colleges, community groups, etc. for book signings and speaking engagements.

After escaping an abusive relationship, Carmen co-founded @TRACcoalition (Together Rising Above Coercion), an advocacy coalition fighting to expand legal protections for victims of coercive control — the foundation of all forms of abuse. TRAC was championed the Bill that helped Massachusetts become the 7th state in the country to pass legislation classifying coercive control as a form of domestic violence, signed into law by @massgovernor in 2024.⁠

Donations are important for survivors of DV as they may sustain severe physical injuries that require life-saving blood transfusions during emergency medical care, sometimes up to 100 pints for a single critically injured patient. These injuries ranging from physical trauma to gunshot wounds, can lead to massive blood loss.

January isn’t just a time for resolutions—it’s also Stalking Awareness Month, and for many survivors, this season is about finally creating the safety they deserve 💜

Our founder, Lovern, knows this journey firsthand when she began to leave abuse behind, the abuse didn’t stop—it intensified through stalking. She had to file an Abuse Prevention Order (209A) to protect herself and begin rebuilding her life. Her courage is now the foundation of the work we do at Love Life Now Foundation, Inc. 💜
